About Me
Hello, I'm Debbie, a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist living on the beautiful Tasman Peninsula. I'm warm, friendly and down to earth. I offer a confidential and safe space for you to talk openly, feel heard, and find the support you need.
With understanding, care and empathy, we'll work together to explore what is happening for you and find practical ways to ease the load. I'll partner with you to navigate life's journey, using evidence-based therapeutic techniques to find a path to improved wellness and resilience.
Living on the Tasman Peninsula, I understand the problems and challenges of living in a rural area. Initially offering online and in person services in two locations, Nubeena, means that I can better serve the local area rather than you travelling to Hobart.
Every counselling journey is deeply personal, and my support reflects that. I bring together compassion, evidence-based practice, and an understanding of the real challenges people face in today's world. My approach is grounded in authenticity, empathy, and respect.

What I Offer
Counselling is a collaborative journey where you have a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings. Together, we'll work toward understanding, healing, and developing the tools you need to thrive.
Climate Distress & Environmental Anxiety
Having worked for 25 years in environmental and sustainability management, including in natural disaster management, I understand how fires and floods affect mental health. I’ll help you manage the distress that comes from constant negative news and build internal resources to cope with climate distress.
Perimenopause Support
EMBERs trained specialist support for the 80% of women experiencing perimenopause symptoms. Having experienced this myself, I understand the physical, cognitive and emotional changes. Using evidence-based CBT approaches to help you navigate this challenging yet empowering journey.
General Counselling
Support for anxiety, depression, stress management, drug and alcohol addiction, motivation, major life transitions, and burnout using an integrated approach including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Testimonials
Real experiences from people who have found support, healing, and growth through our counselling sessions.
"It was so comforting talking to Deb. She really made me feel seen, supported, and that my feelings were valid. I love that I had the space to be truly open with her, all my sessions were so comfortable and relaxed. It was so helpful just to talk everything through with her."
Jen
Client
"I was starting my business and was worried about the impact on my family of my stress. I talked to Debbie and she asked insightful questions which allowed me to think more clearly and reduce my stress levels and impact on my family."
Nathan
Client
"I was having health problems while also being badly bullied at work. Debbie gave me space to vent, and I felt that I was listened to without being judged or given unwanted advice. She was there for me when I had very little support. It meant a lot."
